What's new in version 3.0.1?

  • Fixed an installation problem. The installation package prior to v3.0.1 creates a "Start-Programs" folder in non-English version of Windows while the default program locations are different, "Start-Programmi" in Italy, for example. The fix will install iSafeguard™ under the proper default "Programs" folder.
  • The shell extension is now registered as "Approved" so that the extension has the privilege to run when the "Only allow approved Shell extensions" group policy is set.
  • Fixed a bug in the iSafeguard™ viewer that crashes the server. The bug was introduced into v3.0.0.

What's new in version 2.0.1?

Here is a list of iSafeguard™ new features:

Starting from version 2.0.1 the profile is encrypted with 168-bit 3DES encryption key derived from your login name and pass phrase. The profile was encrypted with a 128-bit RC2 encryption key in prior versions.

If you upgrade to version 2.0.1 your profile's encryption algorithm will not be changed to 3DES automatically until you change your profile's pass phrase.



iSafeguard™ Browser Helper Object bug

If you are running Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Server with latest security updates you may see the following error when visiting some web sites.

The problem may have been caused by our BHO (browser helper object). The BHO is used to simplify user interaction when signing and encrypting emails, as well as decrypting and verifying signed and encrypted email messages using Internet Explorer.

The bug has now been fixed.
